New York Day 2

Seems like we lost a day today. We left Monday evening and now it's Wednesday.  Therefore we are more than going to make up for it. Today should be fun. My body has already adjusted to the time difference.  Woke up at 5:30 this morning in and got my GoPro ready. I've been wanting to take shots of the Yankees stadium which is right across from our apartment.

New York

After about 20 hours, we finally made it. Right now we're in our Brooklyn apt right across Yankee Stadium.  Gonna catch some sleep now. Tomorrow we are going hard at it.

Just arriving.
Crown Diner in the Bronx.
Someone spilled water.

I'm home.

I'm back in Hawaii.  Just one more stop and I'm home.
We had a delay in Portland when the snowplow machine ran out of fluid in the middle of the tarmac. I fell asleep for about an hour. When I woke up,  I was like, " what the shit?"  Hahaha. Anyway,  the lady sitting next to was cool. Her name is Marilyn and must have been in her 70s. She was flying to visit her sick friend. I didn't want to be nosy,  but all the bring she had on was hard to ignore. Asked her if she was still working or enjoying retirement and she chuckled and said,  "I haven't really ever worked.  I guess you could say,  I'm a person of leisure."  Works for me. Lol.

Just one more flight.

Snow Storm.

So I headed out this morning to meet with the NW team. Temperature was just below 20 degrees and wasn't bad at all.

At the end of the meeting,  the snow started to fall. The people here are calling this type of snow,  'dry snow "  It isn't melting and is kind of like blowing around Dandelions.

I decided to just hang out at my hotel to be safe and will monitor the news for updates. News stations said they haven't seen this much snow since a few years ago.

I'll let the pictures tell the rest.

Chillin

So my day started this morning with a 4:30 am shuttle ride from the San Diego Hilton on Harbor Drive to the San Diego airport. After an hour delay,  Alaska Airlines got us safely to Portland. As soon as I entered the jet way,  I got a sense that this was the big leagues.  Lol.

I had enough warm clothes, but I was looking gloves that were smartphone friendly.

Make a long story short,  It's super cold,  low twenties,  but dipping in the teens. The local news will let folks know what's open tomorrow. They just closed the schools due to the teachers strike,  so should be interesting.

Anyway,  here are some pictures of my day today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARI!!!

What a night

I really don't have a lot of pictures to share, but what I can tell you is that I had to change rooms at 2am.

While going to the bathroom,  the toilet would not flush.  So I lifted the toilet tank cover and it fell.

It actually cracked the bowl and started to leak. Thank goodness there was nothing in the bowl. I had problems flushing it earlier and decided to test it before I used it. And wham-o!

Anyway today was a long,  sobering day. And by sobering,  I mean the amount of work that is in front of us,  is daunting.  But,  that's how we roll.

Just a few more days of suit wearing and I'll be back at home.

Early Much?

It never fails whenever I travel, I always make sure that I set my alarm for 530 in the morning. I don't know why I  do that since I always get up 2 minutes before I'm supposed to anyway. Well this morning I decided to start my day by going to the gym.
I got there this morning and the only thing open and was the recumbent bicycle, next to this one dude. I got on the bike and pounded away for about 15 minutes untill I got tired of his flying sweat and me sliding due to my basketball shorts. so I decided to go for a 10000 steps session and I went to hang out at Harbor Point Marina.
It was a really nice walk and I took a few pictures got back to my hotel to shower got dressed and I looked at my watch a noticed I still got another 3 hours. I re read my agenda and the first event doesn't start to 10 o'clock a.m. I've already been up for five hours. Lovely.

Who flies during a Superbowl

So here I am,  sitting somewhere over the Pacific Ocean, half way between Hawaii and San Diego.  My director thought it would be a great idea if I joined the California Managers summit in San Diego. And of course,  being the supportive employee I am,  I booked  my flight once the dates were confirmed. I was anxious and focused on getting my travel ready that I completely forgot it was Superbowl Sunday. It hadn't even crossed my mind. At least not until my wife said,  "wow,  you gonna miss the supoerbowl".   I thought she was kidding.  LOL.

Anyway at last I heard,  Seattle was leading 8 to 0, thanks to our fine pilots.

Finally landed and saw the score. What a blow out. Couldn't wait to go to the hotel and find out what happened.

Weather is perfect this evening; something like low 50s.

I made the call to the hotel driver and he was there in 10 minutes.

Hilton Sann Diego at Harbor Island is where Im at.

BTW,  the Sandwhich thing in the photo is a Manapua. This one was rubbish.

Okay, goodnight.
